Missed you, Jenny.
Thanks Holly. I’ve been very lazy on the writing front!
Good to see you again. 🙂
I’m around, reading blogs but not writing at the moment. Have been enjoying the pictures of your neck of the woods 😊
Thanks. 🙂
What sad news. Someone from our village was diagnosed with that, only in his 50s. He’s always been very active and he’s trying to be still.
Hope you are well, miss your reviews and recommendations, and your uniquely humorous outlook on life.
I read Matthew’s book by the way, I’ve had it for a while. You must be pleased that you contributed to his interest at such an early age by showing him war documentaries. The collection of pictures is a particularly good part of the book and must have taken such a lot of work to get together. It reminds me of read-scribing for Year 10 last week – “this source is not very good because it’s just a picture of someone putting bandages on people”. No! It’s never just a picture!
Anyway, I enjoyed the sense the book gave of a unique period in time – when so many people across the country were involved in fighting for it, which could never happen again in that way, in the age of professional warfare. Very pleased to have read it.
Hi Denise, how are you? It seems that, like me, you have given up on writing your blog. I’m still reading others, though.
Thank you so much for your kind words about Matthew’s book – I passed your comments on and he was really chuffed 😊. He didn’t go to Normandy this year for the 75 years commemoration because of all the razzmatazz surrounding the Trump visit there. So many roads closed off, special passes needed to get to specific memorial sites that he didn’t think it was worth the hassle!
Hope all’s well in your world x
